The Benefits of Improving School Health & Nutrition Programs

  Less Behavioral Problems Among Students:  Students who are cognitively impaired due to poor nutrition or lack of physical activity will not perform as well in school.

School Nutrition Improvement Services
Design your own program or choose from one of our programs listed below.  Programs are tailored to meet the needs of your school and community.  Training programs are scheduled at your convenience and are created to meet professional development criteria for educators, school health and foodservice/nutrition professionals.  
School & Health Education Programs
  •   Focus on School Health Programs Series: Enhancing Student Achievement:  Improving and strengthening coordinated school health education programs through a comprehensive assessment & evaluation process is the primary focus of this 2-part series. This program is designed to assist schools & communities in assessing the current status of nutrition and physical activity programs within the coordinated school health education program model.  This program will utilize current assessment tools, including (but not limited to) the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention's, "School Health Index." This program is customized to meet specific goals  identified by the school council, school health education coordinators and/or school administrators.*  Commitment and teamwork are essential to the success of this program.
*Massachusetts Health Protection Grant Funds (entitlement grant) requires "the inclusion of a program evaluation component."  This program can utilized as an evaluation component for other school grant funding opportunities.  Each program is custom-fit for the school and district.

   School Weight Management Program:  Make healthy eating and physical activity fun.  Let us help you to implement a school-wide nutrition & physical activity campaign guaranteed to get your students focused on improving healthy habits.  Administration, faculty, foodservice & health educators, and parent involvement is encouraged.   Successful campaigns include:  "TV Turn-off Week,"  "Walking to School Days," "Focus on 5-A-Day," "Got Milk 1% or Less?," and  many more!
10,000 Steps-A-Day to Improved Health: We will MOTIVATE your students to walk their way to health.  Footwear selection instruction, weekly/monthly walking logs, nutrition education, and pedometers recommendations provided.  Ask us for more details on bulk pedometer purchases.  Funding solutions will be provided.

Fitness Programs for Children
  Show Me the Money!  Successful Grant Writing Tips & Strategies to Enhance School Health & Nutrition Programs:   This course is designed to assist school grant-writers in designing successful grant projects targeting nutrition & physical activity that meet the goals & objectives outlined in federal, state and other Request for Proposal's (RFP).   This program is custom-designed to meet the needs of your school/district.  Our experts will provide you with ideas on implementing & sustaining successful nutrition & physical activity programs and offer vital information on where to find resources $ to support your program.
